The Lorain County Metroparks and the OBO presents a Bigfoot lecture featuring Marc DeWerth (Bigfoot in Ohio), and Paul Mitchell (Bigfoot bones, how to document them) for a fun filled evening on Bigfoot. The lectures will run from 6 PM til 9 PM on Saturday, September 3rd and is free to attend. There will be a cookout provided by the OBO following the lectures and a night hike of the metro park. We look forward to see all of you.

Briarwood lodge
The talk will be held at the Briarwood lodge which is on the backside of the main entrance. Here's the directions to the Briarwood Lodge-

Just 1/4 mile west of the River's Edge entrance to the park, 25145 Royalton Rd., is the intersection of West River Rd. (The church and schools are on the corner). Go south on West River Rd. for about 1 mile. Turn left at Briarwood Lane (at the curve; you can only go left). About 1/2 mile down at the turn on the left hand side is the park entrance to Briarwood Lodge.

OBO at 23rd Bigfoot Conference at Salt Fork State Park

Hard to believe another GREAT Bigfoot Conference is over. The Ohio Bigfoot Organization was there supporting Don Keating. Our very own and long lost to college founder Paul Mitchell was there. He even gave a demo on how to cast foot tracks and then OBO gave the cast away and auctioned it off to support the event. I had a chance to speak to Carl Johnson of www.sierrasounds.com He recorded some of the most interesting (and maybe real) Bigfoot howls, hoots and conversations..Yes, I said "Conversations" I have never heard such recordings and can't wait to feed them into my sound computer..

I have to say all the speakers was well worth the cover charge. I went away with more friends and contacts. I am happy to annouce the OBO will have our own speakers and a mini conference in Sept of this year.. More details to follow

It's Going to be a Big year in 2011

First of all. I have some people to thank. Verizon Wireless - for their tech support, that allowed me to attempt to speak many new languages all over the world..err they said they all was from Texas.. and When I asked how those Cowboy and Indian baseball team was doing - I was told it's been a great year - they even set a new record for Field Goals??? In Baseball.. So I guess you can understand, why this Blog has not been updated - I gave up and Now go to a the public library for free and their Internet always works.. (Hint to Verizon.. read a book)

Now I can update date you on the latest. First of all I had my own "BFTO" that's a Unidentified Big Foot Object. I saw something and now I too am one of those.. " Hey I saw something like a Bigfoot in the Woods" .. Also like those other people I got caught with no equipment and thus, I have No photos or DNA or any other proof.. I can relate to their frustration. But I have nothing to brag about and until I figure out - what I saw. I can only say I have a hot area, and a place to study for the next year or so.. next time I will be ready..

Ok, More exciting news.. The History Channel - MonsterQuest producers, heard about our 1-877-BFT-OHIO - toll free report a bigfoot hotline. I have a open door to foward, anything that looks like it is worth the cost of a trip to send a camera and crew.. (BTW - my sighting is not on that list - unless I get something more solid) Thus far all Toll Free calls - have been pranks - or so old - it's not worth the effort to reproduce the event for a MonsterQuest show.

I found a company that makes DNA Blowgun or Tranquilizer darts. These darts take a blood and tisuse sample and fall off. You then send the entire unit to the lab - thus there is no way to contaminate the sample. Which is good for the idiot running around in the monkey suit.. He might not like the blood sample - but he will live to see another day -it's a lot better than a bullet to kill a Bigfoot. and a oops on both sides of the trigger. We are a NON kill organization. and will stay that way..

I want thank http://www.brianbrawdy.com/ -> he built a RV that can stay in the field and do the kind of things our Bigfoot Mobile will do too.. Yes I said ours.. I have started the process of a 501C non-profit organization.. Which may be under a shorter name "BFT-Ohio" but will also be updating this Blog.. I am committed to getting a field research vehicle into the field by 2012, if not sooner.

I will NOT be reveling my "Hotspot" - as I want to do this right and not have 1,000 Bigfooters mucking up the area - Sorry Guy's - you know I tell the truth on that one.

Join us for an extraordinary look into The Legend of Bigfoot hosted by the Ohio Bigfoot Organization. Local Bigfoot enthusiast and long time Ohio Bigfoot Investigator Marc DeWerth touches on Bigfoot in our own backyard followed by special guest speaker Dr. Esteban Sarmiento http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Esteban_Sarmiento who is a primatologist and functional anatomist for the American Museum of Natural History and takes a scientific approach on The Legend of Bigfoot!

OBO - In the Field -Northeast Ohio

A Big Thanks goes out to Sonya - who got OBO involved in this possible sighting. The property owner does NOT want the location published and does NOT want strangers on his land looking for Bigfoot. The owner stated his son as never made up stories before and his girl friend doesn't play those games either.
The Basics: Son and girl friend riding a motorcycle came home late after dark. They live deep in a wooded area. As they came down the driveway - the motorcycle lights "Lit Up" a 8 to 10 foot tall creature. The Female jumped off the moving bike and ran for the house. The Son Froze (as did the creature for a moment) and watched it move off the driveway left to right. Later he and friends went back and found no tracks or the creature. Based upon where he stopped and the location of the creature. The Creature had to be big and tall to be seen. Neither party was able to give lots of detail and the total sighting was 20 seconds or so. (5 seconds before the female ran off)

OBO Team Sonya, Marc, Capt Bligh and Randall - spent afternoon on the property. Sadly this was after a major rain storm - that would have washed out anything from the day of the sighting,in the first week of July 2010. we did find hair samples, possible large imprints, a pile of Dung (proven to be potted soil) and checked the water ponds for evidence. The location has all the requirements for Bigfoot Habitat.
For now - we would rank this sighting plausible.

OBO at Salt Fork 2010 Meets the Man !!

Above this entry is a Photo Frame 352 from the Patterson Film of Bigfoot. There was only two people there. Roger Patterson and Bob Gimlin. Roger has passed away. But Mr Gimlin came to the Ohio 22nd Bigfoot Convention and spoke. I had a chance to speak to this wonderful man. I can honesty say I have never met a more humble and down to earth person in my entire lifetime. He spoke of the day and the events before and after the encounter of Patty. Based upon his testimony I am convinced the Patterson Film is real and not fake. Mr Gimlin saw a real to life Sasquatch.

The OBO and the USBRA (United States Bigfoot Research Association) sponsored a picnic and gathering for this years speakers. Mr Gimlin was given a engraved watch. And the other speakers were awarded prizes as well. It was a chance to get your picture taken and speak one on one with some brilliant people. Mr Gimlin and Dr Jeff Meldrum, held nothing back. They posed for one photo after another and answered questions freely. It was a once in a lifetime opportunity. I came away with a life changing , thoughts and knowledge. (for me at lease).

I came into Bigfoot Investigation searching for real evidence. I felt there was only a slim chance they (Sasquatch) was real and I would spend the rest of my life, bringing to truth the evidence of the investigations and sightings from a scientific approach. Now, I am a believer and hope one day to find the proof and or DNA sequence to get these creatures into the accepted wildlife books.

Is there such a thing as a Sasquatch or Bigfoot? Yes, I say - at lease during the filming of the Patterson Film.

You have no scientific proof. True, during the time of the Patterson Film, Science and Law Enforcement SIU was still in the dark ages, there was no GPS or DNA, or other accepted modern day methods of collection. So we have to base this thought on what he have. A film that has been torn apart, frame by frame. No Bigfoot suit ever found. The Testimony of a man that was THERE. Who saw "Patty" while riding around a bend on a horse "16 hands tall" or he was at 9 feet off the ground. "Patty" was guessed to be 7 foot 9 inches tall. Go find a man to fit that suit if you can. No, if there was a flaw in the Patterson Film, we would have found it by now. So I rest my case and state on the record... "Maybe it's time to believe... there could be a Sasquatch out there.

OBO at Salt Fork Conference

Marc, Captain Bligh, Chief Kerry, and Sonya (missing from photo) were in attendance at the 20th annual Eastern Ohio Bigfoot Conference held at Salt Fork State Lodge. Marc did sterling work as auctioneer, and Capt Bligh and Chief Kerry had some antimated discussions of several forensic topics.
In all a great time was had by all.

Ohio Bigfoot Organization Meeting - May 24, 2008 2pm-4pm

The Ohio Bigfoot Organization will be having an informational meeting in the Columbia Library located at 13824 W. River Road, just north of route 82, in Columbia Station, Ohio, 44028, concerning sightings of bigfoot in the state of Ohio.

The meeting is on Saturday, May 24th from 2 p.m. - 4 p.m. This meeting is free and open to the public. All are welcome, and door prizes will be offered. Refreshments will also be available.

Ohio Bigfoot Organization February Outing

The OBO's first outing for 2008 was a little snowy, a little chilly, but rewarding as there is always something to learn from going into the field. Eight to fourteen inches of snow covered the ground allowing for a good indication of activity in the two sights (near Cleveland) which were explored Thursday afternoon and evening. Everyone in the group

agreed that we need to schedule more outing this spring and summer. If you have any suggestions, or wish to participate, contact us and we will include you in our next outings.

Bigfoot in Ohio? A Compilation of Figures

Concerning the phenomenon of bigfoot in Ohio, there are a few key figures to remember.

First, 36 million acres of Ohio is forested, which calculates to roughly 30 percent of the state land area. In contrast, only 12 percent was forested in 1940. This would, of course, account for the prevalence of sightings pan-state due to abundant habitat. Source

Secondly, the deer population, a putative chief food source is estimated at 575,000 head in 2003, a 40% percent increase from 1998. This would, theoretically, enlarge the bigfoot population due to widely available food source. Source

Thirdly, the ubiquity of alleged bigfoot sightings in Ohio is fourth in the nation, only ousted by Washington, California, and Oregon, respectively. This would be the result of the aforementioned factors. Source

Perhaps these figures, even in their ambiguity, present a solid case for the occurance of bigfoot/sasquatch in Ohio. You be the judge.
